Arcadis and Spanier Group Form Strategic Alliance to Drive Sustainable Urban Growth

Partnership to deliver dynamic, sustainable mixed-use development solutions for a resilient urban future

Toronto, ON – [November 25, 2025] – Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, today announced a strategic alliance with Spanier Group, a leading Toronto-based real estate advisory and development firm specializing in transformative mixed-use real estate developments, with a strong foundation in placemaking. The two firms will collaborate to accelerate the delivery of integrated, people-centered destinations, social infrastructure, and city-building projects to boost economic development. Their efforts will also advance Ontario and Canada’s mandate for community-driven housing across Toronto, the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH), and other markets.

This alliance marks the first partnership established under Scott Arbuckle’s appointment through Arcadis’ Global Cities Program as the City Executive for Toronto. In this leadership role, Arbuckle is focused on strengthening collaboration with local decision-makers and urban experts to co-create sustainable, inclusive, and affordable cities. Arbuckle, who formerly served as the Eastern Business Unit Director for Arcadis Canada’s Architecture and Urbanism business, will now focus on strategic growth initiatives, pursue new business development opportunities and partnerships, and oversee client relationships in Toronto and the GGH. Through the Global Cities Program, Arcadis is investing in major cities, like Toronto, to bring forward proven solutions from world-class urban environments that empower city builders to tackle today’s challenges in urban planning, architecture, engineering, and environmental solutions.

Through co-creation and collaboration, we’re aligning Arcadis’ global perspective with local market knowledge and partnering with Spanier Group to collectively deliver high-value, dynamic, and future-ready communities,” said Scott Arbuckle, City Executive, Arcadis. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to expand Arcadis’ portfolio of strategic partnerships that align with our commitment to creating cities that are more sustainable, connected, and resilient – places where people, nature, and innovation thrive together.”

The strategic alliance builds on a long-established relationship between Arcadis and Spanier Group, who have successfully collaborated across the GTA with industry leaders, including Trinity Point (a Greenpark company), Sevoy (formerly Fieldgate Urban), Lakeview Community Partners Limited (TACC, Greenpark, CCI, Branthaven, and Argo), as well as on major urban developments in downtown Vaughan, Mississauga, and Toronto.

Spanier Group and Arcadis share a common vision for creating innovative real estate developments and infrastructure solutions that strengthen our economy,” said Rob Spanier, President of Spanier Group. “By aligning our efforts through this new platform, we can deliver intelligent investments and generational outcomes for our clients. Our combined expertise in placemaking, real estate strategy, and social infrastructure design positions us as trusted partners to deliver future-ready developments that are resilient and inclusive.”

Our longstanding collaboration with the Spanier Group is rooted in shared values, design excellence, and a commitment to shaping the future of Canadian cities. Formalizing this partnership is a natural evolution of the journey. Together, we’re proud to combine our collective expertise to create world-class urban environments across Canada,” said Mansoor Kazerouni, Global Director, Architecture and Urbanism, Arcadis.
