Arcadis (EURONEXT: ARCAD), a global leader in sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions, has been awarded two significant new contracts with National Highways in the United Kingdom.
Building on the established relationship which saw Arcadis win previous commissions through the National Highways Commercial and Project Management Services (CPMS) framework; Arcadis have been successful in securing two further wins. The first will see Arcadis support National Highways with roadside technology, tunnel and asset management programmes for up to six years. This win - the largest Arcadis has ever received on the CPMS framework – will specifically support the Operations Directorate South East, and builds on Arcadis extensive experience in the region delivering project management services tunnel maintenance support, including a recent remediation programme supporting identification of the refurbishment need for Roundhill and Southwick Tunnels.
In addition, Arcadis will support the delivery of major infrastructure projects across the North West and South East UK, to include contract administration, project controls and risk management, helping the Regional Delivery Partnership schemes to deliver on time, within budget and to the highest standards of safety and quality. These projects will include improvements to the M3 Junction 9 in Hampshire, the delivery of refurbished bridges over Lune Gorge in Cumbria, improvements to the Simister Island Interchange which sees 90,000 vehicles a day, and the creation of two new link roads along the A57 near Manchester. These projects will ensure the resiliency of Britain’s transport infrastructure, while providing the necessary improvements to improve safety for roadway users.
National Highways will benefit from the expertise and knowledge of approximately 50 Arcadians from across the business, including the Highways Global Excellence Centre, who will utilise and range of digital tools and intelligence to enhance transparency, decision-making and efficiency.
Alan Brookes, CEO, Arcadis, said: “Arcadis has a long-established relationship with National Highways which is testament to our deep understanding of our client’s challenges. From delivering technical expertise to support the Operational Technology Strategy, which is used to operate and enable maintenance of the Strategic Road Network, to successfully showcasing how the use of drones can enhance situational awareness, our latest contract awards show the trust National Highways places in Arcadis to deliver and keep the road network moving safely.”
