Arcadis appointed Technical Advisor for Westport Marine and Ports Infrastructure Program in Perth

Arcadis, the leading data driven global design and consultancy organisation for natural and built assets, has been appointed Technical Advisor for the Westport Marine and Port Infrastructure Program - a major initiative that will redefine Western Australia’s freight and logistics landscape.

In joint venture with Worley, Arcadis will deliver multi-year technical advisory and design services for the program. Key features of the services are a dedication to Working with Nature, achieving Westport’s aspirations for low carbon emission construction and the use of innovative digital modelling to optimize community benefit, environmental stewardship and supply chain efficiency.

Alan Brookes, CEO, Arcadis, said: “The Westport project builds on Arcadis’ strength and heritage in port development and will significantly enhance supply chains, enabling more efficient movement of freight across the state and Australia.

“The project is about more than logistics though - it’s about creating a legacy that drives economic growth, respects our environment, and supports communities for generations to come.”

The Westport Program’s current design includes the development of a new container port facility in Kwinana, new shipping channel and an offshore breakwater. It also encompasses the redevelopment of the Kwinana Bulk Terminal . The new container terminal is projected to be operational by the late 2030s.

Key subcontractors supporting the Worley Arcadis JV include Moffatt & Nichol, Deloitte, Syrinx and Perspektiv. The Westport program will unlock new logistics developments, drive local job creation, support long-term economic growth and set a benchmark for sustainable infrastructure delivery. With a strong focus on community and Aboriginal engagement, safety and environmental stewardship, Westport is a critical contributor to the state's future prosperity.

The win marks another project in Arcadis’ history of delivering technical and strategic projects in ports and maritime infrastructure. From Port of Rotterdam and Port Botany Expansion to Moorebank Intermodal Facility and Hamad Port, Arcadis specialises in delivering resilient infrastructure solutions, leveraging cutting-edge digital tools, sustainability expertise and innovative design.
