Arcadis develops transportation technology blueprint for the Georgia Department of Transportation

Arcadis maintains momentum in providing holistic transportation solutions in Georgia

ATLANTA, GA – September 8, 2025 – Arcadis, a global leader in intelligence-driven sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets, has been selected to develop a transportation technology blueprint for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). Building off GDOT’s award-winning record implementing data and technology-driven innovation, the Blueprint will further empower GDOT to evaluate, prioritize, fund, and deploy innovative technologies to achieve the goals of the Statewide Strategic Transportation Plan.

The two-year project will focus on addressing key challenges, including developing an adaptable strategy for GDOT to identify and adopt current and emerging technologies. In an effort to keep pace with rapid technological advancements, GDOT recognizes the importance of integrated solutions and policies across the department. The scope of this strategic initiative encompasses:

  • Establishing a baseline of technologies and data currently used across the agency
  • Building a robust framework to evaluate and integrate advanced technologies into GDOT’s operations
  • Identifying metrics to quantify and communicate benefits of technological advancements, particularly those that improve safety, inform asset management decisions, and advance operational efficiency.

To achieve these objectives, Arcadis is collaborating with an integrated team of global subject matter experts and leading software and hardware vendors. The team brings deep expertise in planning, design, and operation of transportation technologies from around the world. Leveraging its extensive knowledge of GDOT’s vision, Arcadis has crafted a tailored technical approach that reflects the department’s priorities and achieves its goals.

Prasoon Sinha, Global Director of Digital Solutions, Mobility, at Arcadis, said: Our years of working closely across divisions of GDOT provided insight into the agency’s unique challenges and goals. Our prior experience and deep understanding of GDOT’s operations positioned us as the ideal partner for this important project.

The project will deliver a practical and replicable technology blueprint that aligns with GDOT’s vision and strategy for the future. Beyond its immediate impact, the framework is designed to be scalable, with potential applications across other Departments of Transportation in the United States and globally. It represents a significant step forward in the creation of integrated, cutting-edge solutions for modern transportation agencies.

Wassim Selman, Director of Mobility Business Area, North America, at Arcadis, said:The project is a springboard for the future of transportation technology and underscores Arcadis’s ability to deliver innovative solutions that address complex transportation challenges. We’re proud to help GDOT lead the way and set a new standard for innovation across the transportation sector.”
